Cara Cara Oranges, also known as ‘Red Fleshed Navel Oranges/ Red Navel, is the result of the cross-pollination of a Washington Navel Orange and a Brazilian Bahia Navel Orange. Once the orange blossoms are pollinated, medium-sized oranges with red to pink flesh and an incredibly sweet citrus flavor are created.
These oranges are similar to grapefruits, extremely juicy and refreshing, has nodes of sweet berry flavor.
Cara Cara works great in ground or also as a patio plant. As a container grown tree, the Cara Cara will remain at a height of 4 to 6 feet. The scent of the blossoms fills the air with an inviting, refreshing fragrance.
The tree is cold hardy; thus, can fit into our climate perfectly within multiple growing zones. Even if your area freezes or gets a little snow, your Cara Caras will thrive in growing zones 8 to 11.
