The Pina Colada Mango is considered a small to medium size tree, exhibits a compact growth habit. As a result, Pina Colada Mango is considered a “condo” mango or a mango that does well in containers.
Pina Colada mangos weigh between 0.5 – 0.7 lbs.
The aroma of a perfectly ripe Pina Colada Mango can be intoxicating. It definitely has notes of coconut + pineapple similar to what you would expect from an actual Pina Colada. The fruit’s yellow flesh has a completely fiberless and creamy texture comparable to what one would find in other tropical-flavored mangos including Coconut Cream, Orange Sherbet & Sugarloaf.
Pina Colada Mango has an extremely rich, complex and sweet (candy-like) flavor. Furthermore, the flavor strikes a very nice balance between sweetness and acidity. If you truly want to unlock the Pina Colada flavor, let the mango go extra ripe. At that point, it becomes an absolute flavor bomb of coconut and pineapple at a level of flavor intensity similar to that of Sweet Tart Mango.
