Little Gem is a new release from the Zill's mango breeding program. It was selected for its fruit quality and dwarf size for home gardeners. The trees have excellent disease resistance.
The fruit is round, turning orange near maturity sometimes with some reddish blush as well. The skin is thick, and fiberless, firm flesh.
Little Gem tend to be heavy producers of late season fruit that ripen from the end of July well into August. Good choice for planting in pot, small backyard or commercial groves for its high productivity.
