Buttercream Mango is a fairly productive cultivar. The fruits are considered medium to large mangos that can weigh between 1.5 – 2 lbs.
The flesh is completely fiberless and will instantly melt in your mouth. This mango’s smooth and buttery texture definitely lives up to the ‘buttercream’ name. Additionally, the fruit’s aroma has a very classic mango vibe.
Buttercream flavor is comparable to other Indochinese mangos such as Venus, Okrung & Zinc. It has a very refreshing, sweet, and rich mango taste. Additionally, there are hints of tartness and citrus that give the flavor a little bit of complexity. Relative to other mangos whose flavors pack a punch, such as Sweet Tart or Sugarloaf, Buttercream Mango has a very mellow flavor.
Buttercream Mango is considered an mid-season mango (June – July).
