Gooseberry plants are fairly easy to grow, and tolerant of partial shade to full sun. These plants can make delicious additions to your home berry patch.
The fruits are numerous, oblate, with 6 to 8 ribs, and densely clustered. They are pale yellow or white, waxy, crisp and juicy, and very sour. 3-4 seeds are contained in a stone at the center of each fruit.
Choose from either culinary or dessert varieties. Culinary gooseberries are usually cooked with sugar to temper their naturally sour taste. They’re perfect in jams, pies, puddings, pickles and many more. Or simply just eat it raw and fresh.
